Hack Philosophy

Site: CotH, Section: Philosophy, Page: Questions.

There are a number of complex issues that face hacks. It's quite likely that other people face a lot of them too, but hacks are actually interested in the answers.

As possible answers are found (and more questions caused) they will be added to this section.

  1. What is the definition of a hack?
  2. (possibly related) Is there a good way to phrase the self-evident principles?
  3. 'Fluffy Steering' - good, bad or ugly?
  4. Information - who wants to know, who needs to know?
  5. Working with the rules - how and why.
  6. Complexity versus exploitability - where should the balance be?
  7. Impartiality - avoiding the subtle mistakes.
  8. Implicit rulings - what and why?
