Internal Affair's Officer

This UGM Notes

  1. That the post now known as Internal Affairs Officer was recently created as part of a re-organsiation of the management structure of DSU.
  2. That the post of IAO includes major parts of the post previously known as Treasurer.
  3. That a laudable attempt at re-organising the union has succeeded, in part, in confusing the many students who have never had an internal affair in their lives.
  4. That the re-titling of the post will invovle some considerable effort on the part of members and officers of this Union, and that this motion has not been tabled lightly.

This UGM believes

  1. That any re-titling of the post of Internal Affairs Officer must go hand in hand with a determination by the post holder to ensure, by diligent reporting to UGMs and Councils, that all members of the Union are aware of the full breadth of the portfolio.
  2. That the post of Internal Affairs Officer should be re-titled 'Treasurer'.

This UGM mandates

  1. The steering committee to bring forward the appropriate constitutional changes to the next UGM.
  2. The Internal Affairs Officer to call himself Treasurer.

At a guess, the name IAO lasted about 2.5 months...
