Manifesto translations

Election manifestos make interesting reading, but since they're written by people trying to be elected, you shouldn't take them at face value. Some common translations may be of use.

In the interests of not biasing an election, phrases from manifestos will not be added until the election is over. If people use the phrases after they've already been added, we won't remove them though. Some of these are combinations of phrases from multiple manifestos, or phrases that weren't mentioned but should have been.

Note to candidates: The appearance of a manifesto statement of yours here doesn't necessarily mean I don't like you. But you're a candidate, so it's quite likely.

If you're offended that I've not included anything from your manifesto, please point out an appropriate section. Or write a worse manifesto next time.

Phrases used on posters will get included too, so don't think you're safe.
